The Challenge
Validating the hydrodynamic load-bearing capacity and structural integrity of an oil lubrication film within a novel motion mechanism, which was designed to maximize thermodynamic efficiency and overall work output.
Our Solution
Developed Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to analyze the system’s lubrication behavior. We calculated the internal pressure fields and quantified the power losses caused by hydrodynamic friction, allowing us to verify the lubricant’s load-bearing capacity and determine the overall mechanical efficiency of the mechanism.
