Ansys Automated Workflow Pipeline

The Challenge

Training a machine learning model to assess the stability of materials with a
plethora of defects by providing it with numerous different geometries and their
corresponding ansys simulation results.

Our Solution

Developed an automated workflow pipeline that automatically generates 3D geometries in SpaceClaim with random defects. Then passing the generated geometry to a custom Workbench Mechanical-MAPDL pipeline everything from geometry imports to meshing to structural solutions is processed automatically until the desired number of simulation result data is generated to pass on to the machine learning model. This software transformed the impossible task of manually designing and stress testing thousands of geometries into a simple routine that generated the desired data quickly and effectively.
